Martinelli Plumbing & Heating, Inc. is hiring a skilled HVAC Service Technician who can both perform quality HVAC service work and effectively communicate service options to clients. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys hands-on problem-solving while building trust with customers and offering service upgrades without high-pressure sales tactics. You will be responsible for residential and light-commercial HVAC service calls, including diagnostics, maintenance and repairs. You will also serve as a key customer contact—explaining findings, providing repair options and recommending system enhancements or replacements when appropriate.
- 3+ years of HVAC service experience (residential or light commercial)
- EPA Universal Certification required
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sales-minded but customer-focused—able to present solutions without pressure
- Clean and valid driver’s license required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders and work in crawl spaces or attics
- Experience with mini-split systems, boilers and heat pumps is a plus
- NATE certification preferred but not required
- Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems
- Perform routine service, maintenance and inspections
- Clearly communicate findings and recommended solutions to customers
- Offer service upgrades or replacement options in a consultative, non-pressure manner
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate job documentation
- Maintain truck inventory, tools and equipment
- Follow all safety protocols, local codes and company procedures
- Coordinate with dispatch and office staff to manage schedules efficiently
- Maintain a professional appearance and deliver outstanding customer service
