Job Overview

You will be responsible for residential and light-commercial HVAC service calls, including diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs. You will also serve as a key customer contact—explaining findings, providing repair options, and recommending system enhancements or replacements when appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills

• 3+ years of HVAC service experience (residential or light commercial)
• EPA Universal Certification required
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Sales-minded but customer-focused—able to present solutions without pressure
• Clean and valid driver’s license required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in crawl spaces or attics
• Experience with mini-split systems, boilers, and heat pumps is a plus
• NATE certification preferred but not required

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Pay: $25–$35+ per hour (based on experience and performance)
• Sales incentives and performance bonuses
• Weekly pay cycle

Work Schedule

• Full-time, Monday through Friday
• Occasional weekend or overtime work depending on emergency service demand

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems
• Perform routine service, maintenance, and inspections
• Clearly communicate findings and recommended solutions to customers
• Offer service upgrades or replacement options in a consultative, non-pressure manner
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate job documentation
• Maintain truck inventory, tools, and equipment
• Follow all safety protocols, local codes, and company procedures
• Coordinate with dispatch and office staff to manage schedules efficiently
• Maintain a professional appearance and deliver outstanding customer service

What You’ll Do

• Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents to create detailed estimates
• Perform quantity takeoffs and price labor, material, equipment, and subcontracted work
• Solicit, compare, and level supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Build and submit complete bid packages and proposals that are clear, professional, and on time
• Coordinate site walks, pre-bid questions (RFIs), and vendor/GC communication as needed
• Maintain organized records of estimates, bid documents, and supporting backup
• Track completed projects versus estimated costs to improve accuracy and process
• Partner with leadership and project managers on scope clarity, pricing strategy, and bid decisions
• Ensure estimates align with applicable codes, standards, and company policies

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of plumbing estimating experience (commercial and/or residential)
• Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and installation practices
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
• Proficiency with estimating tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple bids at once
• Strong communication skills with vendors, contractors, and internal teams
• Field background (journeyman, foreman, lead technician, etc.) strongly preferred
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Compensation

• $30–$40+ per hour (based on experience)
• Profit sharing bonus
• Weekly pay cycle
• Overtime pay when workload requires it
